Congratulations to Jonathan Browy, a commercial banker with Synovus Bank, for being our Ambassador of the Quarter! Jonathan has been a commercial banker for over 20 years. He returned to the Tampa Bay area in 2000, after five years in New York. “I grew up mostly in St. Pete, and I had always wanted to return to the area to raise a family,” he said.
At Synovus, Jonathan works with business owners and C-level executives, focusing on those with larger and more complex banking needs. Besides being an Ambassador, he serves on the board of SPCA Tampa Bay and is the Advisory Board Chairperson for the YMCA’s Central City branch. This and having two active children keep Jonathan and his wife Marion always on the go.
Jonathan has been a Chamber Ambassador for several years. “I became an Ambassador in order to connect with businesses that find value in their Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce membership,” he said. While this has occasionally led to business opportunities for Jonathan, he feels that it’s much more about helping companies leverage all of their Chamber benefits. “If I can assist a member in developing a new relationship through a Chamber networking event, or refer them to a skill-building program like our Competitive Edge Series, then I feel that I’ve helped our business community.”
The Ambassador Spotlight is a quarterly award given to an Ambassador who best exemplifies a spirit of volunteerism and dedication to the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee’s focus of serving as member relations support and assists with efforts to retain members through consistent personal interaction and involvement.
