Mayor Buckhorn delivers a different State of the City Address

This week, Mayor Bob Buckhorn gave his annual State of the City address.  Focusing on a different perspective of Tampa, the Mayor talked about unity within the community.

Ridesharing Bill passes the Florida House

The House passed HB 221 sponsored by Representative Chris Sprowls and Representative Jamie Grant. The bill will provide a statewide regulation for ridesharing.  The Senate version SB 340 sponsored by Senator Jeff Brandes passed its final committee stop and will be heard on the floor of the Senate soon.

The Greater Chamber of Commerce SUPPORTS SB 647/HB 651 as one of the top priorities.

Workers’ Comp Bill amended

HB 7085 sponsored by Representative Danny Burgess was amended to reduce the hourly rate of attorney’s fees.  The bill will, among other things, increase the timeframe of eligibility to 260 weeks.
