GrayRobinson Attorney Served as Faculty Member at Annual IADC Trial Academy
GrayRobinson Shareholder Christine A. Marlewski served as a faculty member for the International Association of Defense Counsel’s (IADC) 43rd Annual Trial Academy that took place at Stanford Law School in Palo Alto, California from August 1 – August 7, 2015. The Trial Academy is one of the oldest and most respected programs for developing defense trial advocacy skills in the country.
The faculty consists of leading defense trial lawyers selected on a national basis from different regions of the country. Each faculty member was assigned to a group of seven students, which allows for individualized attention and instruction. The faculty performs an entire trial for all 100 students, coaches them on trial techniques, and critiques the performance of their group on all aspects of a trial.
The IADC Trial Academy was initiated by the IADC in 1973 at the University of Colorado in Boulder. After 31 years at that location, the Trial Academy moved to the prestigious Stanford Law School in Stanford, California in 2004.
The purpose of this continuing legal education program is to enhance advocacy trial skills of less experienced lawyers. Major emphasis is placed on the learning-by-doing method of instruction. For more information go to www.iadclaw.org/education-events/CLE-Events/Trial-Academy/.
Christine is an AV Preeminent-rated and Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer with jury trial experience in State and Federal Courts litigating both commercial and civil cases focusing on intellectual property (trade secret, Computer Fraud and Abuse, trademark, and copyright), non-competition and non-solicitation disputes, breaches of contract, tortious interference, fraud, and toxic tort claims. Christine is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and also teaches litigation skills to students at Stetson University College of Law as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy.
