Agency Formerly Known as Fry Hammond Barr is now &Barr
For nearly six decades, Fry Hammond Barr (FHB) has been a leader in providing innovative marketing and communications solutions for brands of all types. It’s accomplished this by becoming an extension of its clients’ marketing functions and partners in their success. To better reflect what the agency has grown to be, wants to be in the future and elevate its philosophy of partnership, Fry Hammond Barr is now known as &Barr.
What does &Barr mean? First, it’s a brand that brings the agency’s partnerships to the forefront. Whether an employee, client, vendor or simply a friend – it personifies collaboration. Think Employee&Barr, Client&Barr, Vendor&Barr or Friend&Barr. This new name and brand better reflects the agency’s rich history of partnership.
Second, the new brand allows increased focus on the agency’s evolution of expertise. Founded as an advertising agency with deep expertise in marketing consultation, innovate creative design and results-driven paid media planning, the firm has evolved into a much different company than the one Chuck Fry, Bob Hammond and Pete Barr, Sr. founded 58 years ago.
While continuing its advertising excellence, the agency has adjusted to the changing marketing and communications landscape to better service the broader needs of its clients. Along the way, the agency has added comprehensive public relations services, a wide variety of digital solutions and expanded its strategic planning and brand development capabilities. &Barr enables the agency to bring its full-service expertise to the forefront. Envision Branding&Barr, Strategy&Barr, Design&Barr, Public Relations&Barr or Digital Marketing&Barr.
“This new brand, built upon partnership and creative thinking, is a natural evolution for us,” states Pete, Barr, Jr., President/CEO for &Barr. “We’ve been practicing this for quite some time and only want to elevate it in the future. We feel this new brand platform allows us to do that.”
“&Barr isn’t an ad agency, PR firm, design studio or digital shop – it’s a group of marketing and communications thinkers and doers that provide creative solutions for the things that keep our partners awake at night,” continues Barr.

Absolute Mobile Solutions’ Alfred Goldberg Speaks about Mobile’s Emergence as a Mass Medium to Marketing Students at the University of Tampa
Absolute Mobile Solutions president Alfred Goldberg will share his experience and expertise with marketing students at the University of Tampa’s Sykes College of Business on Monday, March 16th. The discussion will focus on the prevalence of mobile usage in our society and how engaging users on mobile platforms can have a tremendous impact on business.
Goldberg will discuss the emergence of mobile technology as a mass medium. He will also give examples of why including mobile in your marketing strategy can be transformative to your business, product or even, your industry.
“It is critical for your business to be at the forefront of how people search for brands and products. Consumers utilize their phones daily to help make buying decisions and have conversations about the products and services that they like or dislike,” said Goldberg. “Also, with smartphones and tablets accounting for 60 percent of all online traffic and changes in Google’s search algorithm to support mobile-friendly websites, there’s no time like the present to make mobile a part of your marketing strategy.”
“We’d like to thank Alfred for taking time to share his knowledge and experiences with our students,” said Loran Tripp, marketing professor at the University of Tampa. “He gives a tremendous real world-perspective on digital marketing that enhances what our students learn on a daily basis.”
