The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee for the Republican National Convention Announces Honorary Co-Chairs

The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee for the Republican National Convention is pleased to announce the appointment of its honorary co-chairs.

This prestigious bi-partisan group of individuals is made up of prominent and well-respected elected officials who have served Florida and the Tampa Bay region at local, state and national levels.

“Our honorary co-chairs will serve as ambassadors of the 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee,” said Ken Jones, President and CEO of the 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee. “These fine individuals will represent and promote Florida and the Tampa Bay region on our behalf. They will also ensure that the Host Committee achieves all of its goals in order to properly showcase the Tampa Bay region during the 2012 Republican National Convention.”

“I am excited to be part of this historic event and know that the convention will bring tremendous economic development opportunities to the Tampa Bay region as well as the entire State of Florida,” said former Governor Jeb Bush and Host Committee Honorary Co-Chair.

Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Host Committee Honorary Co-Chair emphasized that the 2012 Republican National Convention is a tremendous economic opportunity for the entire Tampa Bay region. “We are working closely with the Host Committee and the entire Convention team to make sure this is a great event for everyone so that we can successfully tell Tampa’s story to the world about why it is the best place to live, work, vacation, raise a family, and start a business.”

Esteemed former U.S. Senator Connie Mack and Host Committee Honorary Co-Chair said, “It is an honor to serve the people of Florida and the 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee in this important role.
